Be sure to mark your calendars for Saturday, March 4th as Possum Kingdom host its 20th annual Mardi Gras Parade and Shrimp fest.
The festivities kick off at 3pm with the parade down Park Road 36. Businesses and individuals are all invited to decorate a float and participate for free. Each float is given a number and are secretly judged along the route. Winners are announced at the shrimp fest that evening.
After the parade, head on over to the Chamber of Commerce for an evening of all-you-can-eat shrimp and fixings while listening to the live music and participating in the costume contest. Be sure to stay long enough to find out the winners of the parade float contest.
Tickets are $23 for adults, $15 for seniors (62 and up), and $10 for kids 10 and under. Tickets are limited, so be sure to stop by the Possum Kingdom Chamber of Commerce to get yours.
Community events such as the Possum Kingdom Mardi Gras Parade and Shrimp is one of the many reason I’m thankful to call Possum Kingdom home. I enjoy getting to know my neighbors and supporting local businesses.
So come on out to enjoy the fun and festivities. I know I will be!
